How a backup works...
- Install the backup software agent onto the computers needing protection.
- Set the backup policy for each computer, selecting specific file types and folders that need to be backed up.
- Select the backup scheduling for each machine i.e. how often and when you’d like the backups to take place.
- A backup will run
- Data being backed up will automatically be compressed and encrypted using 128-bit AES encryption levels.
- Using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption, data is then transferred over the Internet to a tier-4 level data centre.
- The data is then mirrored to a second data centre in a separate location for failover capacity.
How recovery works...
- When backed up data needs to be recovered, simply log onto your software application or MyRoam portal.
- From here, the multiple file versions of the backed up data on your account can be seen stored within the data vaults.
- Select the files you need to retrieve.
- In encrypted form, the backed up data is sent back over the Internet to your computer.
- Upon retrieval the data is unencrypted using installed encryption keys.
